Vapor of the Poisonous Snake: Song by Imprisoned Monks

Hundreds of Tibetan Buddhist monks were taken into custody following the March 2008 protests. A Drepung monk held in custody at Golmud during this time composed the following song, based on a popular folk song in Amdo, eastern Tibet. The song gained popularity among monks in detention and the lyrics appeared on several blogs in Chinese and English.
