International Campaign for Tibet

His Holiness the Dalai Lama's 75th birthday

On the occasion of His Holiness the Dalai Lama's 75th birthday, the International Campaign for Tibet and our members and supporters worldwide rededicate our energies to the international struggle for Tibet, a struggle whose just cause is undiminished by time.  

As the late Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan once said, "The Chinese invasion and conquest of Tibet does not become less criminal because it has remained in place over a long period of time...the Chinese have been brutal and have made no bones about it and have made no apologies for it."  Great and serious people continue to seek a just and peaceful solution for Tibet and press the Chinese government to directly engage the Dalai Lama.  His Middle Path approach has been embraced on the world stage, including by President Barack Obama.  From heads-of-state to student activists, the Tibet movement builds.

At the International Campaign for Tibet, we feel a responsibility and privilege every day in our work on behalf of the Tibetan people.  We will continue to "Activate!" as His Holiness has instructed us to do, and we will work as hard as ever.

Happy 75th Birthday, Your Holiness!  As one ICT member wrote to him in a birthday message, "We are blessed and grateful that you live in our lifetime. May you enjoy a long and healthy life!"

To celebrate His Holiness' life work, ICT members sent messages from around
