Pan European Panchen Lama Kit

Who: Tibet's Stolen Child is Gedhun Choekyi Nyima, the boy recognized by His Holiness the Dalai Lama as one of Tibet's most important spiritual leaders. He is known as the Panchen Lama and is one of the young victims of China's brutal repression of the Tibetan people.

What: The Free the Panchen Lama Kit is filled with postcards for you to send to world leaders who can help release the Panchen Lama. It also includes special actions to help further educate and motivate others to take up this cause.

How: You can make a difference! The Free the Panchen Lama Kit will help maximize your efforts as you join with like-minded people everywhere to call for the immediate release of the Panchen Lama.

Through postcards, special actions and constant outreach to new people, you can become part of an international movement that is dedicated to placing increasing pressure on the world leaders who can help free this imprisoned boy.

Why: Determined to control religion in Tibet, the Chinese authorities kidnapped this young boy and his family in 1995 just days after he was recognized as the Panchen Lama. He is growing up under house arrest. Despite repeated appeals to gain access to him no government, international agency or human rights organization has been granted contact with the young Panchen Lama or his family. To date, their well-being and whereabouts remain unconfirmed.

"The safety of Gedhun Choekyi Nyima and his proper religious training is of particular concern for me. I, therefore, appeal to all governments, religious and human rights organizations for their intervention in ensuring the safety and freedom of the young Panchen Lama."

- His Holiness the Dalai Lama
